Create a product
A product defines what you sell and how you charge for it. Some organizations use the four-step product wizard; others see a single-page form. Follow the section that matches your dashboard.
If you see the four-step wizard
- Open Products and choose Create.
- In Product details, enter a product name. You can also add a description, external ID, and product code.
- In Currencies & credits, choose the currencies in which you will price the product and any credit currencies it will grant or consume. Available pricing currencies come from your organization’s active currencies.
- In Pricing, add at least one fee and enter its required prices. You can combine fee types, such as a platform fee and usage pricing.
- In Review & create, check the details and pricing. Choose Create product to make the product active.
You can use Back or the step list to revisit a completed step before creating the product.
Save and resume a wizard draft
Save as draft is available on all four steps once you enter a product name. Choose it and confirm Save as draft in the dialog. Paid saves an inactive product named (Draft) {product name} and opens its product page. Your work is saved only when you confirm this action; leaving the wizard does not save changes automatically.
To continue, open the draft from Products and choose Edit. The wizard restores the step and values from your last explicit save. You can save again to update that draft, or finish the remaining steps and choose Create product to activate the same product. The draft cannot be activated through the product page’s Manage menu.
Choosing Close and then Discard removes the saved draft product. If you want to keep edits made since your last save, choose Save as draft first.
If Paid finds unfinished work from an older browser-stored draft, it offers a one-time Resume draft action. Review the restored work and choose Save as draft to save it to your account.
If you see the single-page form
Open Products and choose Create. Enter the product details, configure currencies and pricing in the sections on the page, then go to Ready to finish? Choose Save as draft to keep the product inactive, or Finish to create and activate it. If you have not configured pricing, confirm that choice in the dialog that appears. Open a saved product from Products and choose Edit to continue in the single-page editor.
